50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. 51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. 52 The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.
Many would call the hour Jesus died as just a story but last week I came across an article on MSNBC from the Discovery Channel called “Quake reveals date of Jesus crucifixion, researchers believe” which talks about geologists who have now been able to prove Jesus time of death based on seismic activity. From the article: Continue reading

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
God has been showing my egg yolk and speaking to me about egg yolks metaphorically for the last few days. I was fixing egg whites in an omelet the other day but I noticed that when I had used regular eggs, the egg stayed in place better. But when I used egg whites, things looked to be held together well until it was time to flip the omelet over. I kept hearing God when He said that people try to be healthy but when they leave Him out, they still fall apart. The yolk holds everything together.

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those mourn.
How many of us really believe that we are to share in one others joys and sorrows as the apostle Paul wrote? More importantly, how many of us actually practice it? Simon of Cyrene had to help carry the cross when Jesus was too weak to carry his own to Golgotha in Matthew 27. It was actually a symbolism of how we must share in the burdens of others not just their joys.
Truthfully, many revel in the mourning of others. They would rather see a person fall than succeed. Yet it is our duty as followers of Christ to hold one another up just as Simon assisted Jesus. As the apostle Paul said, we are one body with many parts and no one part can function on its own.

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
90’s Hip Hop connoisseurs know the title of today’s message from the female trio Salt N Pepa. It crossed over and hit pop charts in many countries and continents. The purpose of the song was to talk about “safe sex” and to mimic the taboos around sex. Sex was created by God for the enjoyment of man and woman in a covenant relationship and for procreation. Sex has quite a lengthy reference in the Old Testament book Song of Solomon or Song of Songs depending on what version of the Bible you have. In Song of Solomon, the references to courting, marriage, sex and intimacy between King Solomon and the Shulamite woman are also an allegory to the relationship God desires to have with each us, a very intimate one. In Corinthians the apostle Paul addressed those in the Corinthian church who tried very hard to justify their continued behavior of sex outside of marriage a.k.a. fornication, with the notion that they have freedom to do so even in Christ. Sidebar, the word fornicator is derived from the Greek word pornous which is where we get the word porn. And in Hebrews 13:4 the fornicator denoted in the scripture is not just referencing sex but anything that is immoral or outside of the relationship with God. The apostle Paul breaks it down for the Corinthians as to what “becoming one” means. Let’s talk about the act of sex. Continue reading
